Key Details

Dates & Coverage

Approved by the Fair Work Commission on 17 October 2025, and effective from 24 October 2025.

Nominal expiry: 17 October 2029.

Covers all Grill’d employees nationally, including trainees, and team leaders.

Who’s covered

The EA applies to all employees employed under the Grill’d brand, operations side. This means all team members, trainees, and team leaders, and managers working in stores.

The EA replaces both the 2020 agreement and the Fast Food Industry Award.

How the EA Works

The Enterprise Agreement sets the minimum standards for all employment at Grill'd, covering how pay, breaks, leave, and other entitlements work. It is a legally enforceable document approved by the Fair Work Commission, meaning we are no longer bound by the Fast Food Industry Award 2020.

Classifications & Pay

Pay is based on the classification (Trainee/Non-trainee, TM/TL) and either age or school year. Each classification has defined hourly rates for ordinary time, penalties, and overtime.

Weekend penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work. Higher classifications receive higher hourly rates.

Use PayCheck to confirm your weekly rate.

Ordinary Hours & Rosters

Ordinary hours may be rostered between 6:00am and midnight, and each shift must be at least 3 hours in length. You must receive one break every 5 hours, and 10 hours off between shifts. See more on the Rosters & Breaks page.

Split shifts are not permitted under the 2025 EA. Each shift must be at least 3 hours long.

Overtime & Variation

Overtime applies when you work more than an hour past your rostered hours. Workers may be asked to accept a “variation” request to change their roster after it is published; this must be voluntary and confirmed through Tanda. See more on the Overtime & Variation page.

Declining a variation does not affect future rosters.

Reconciliation Clause
NEW

Every three months, Grill’d must compare each worker’s pay against the Fast Food Industry Award 2020.

If you would have earned more under the Award for the same hours, Grill’d must back-pay the difference + 1.5%. This ensures no employee will ever again earn less than the legal minimum overall, as was the case under the 2020 EA.

Leave Entitlements

Workers accrue annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, and parental leave as set out in the National Employment Standards.

Public holidays attract penalty rates when worked. If you’re not rostered, it’s treated as a normal day off.

Allowances

The EA includes allowances for meal breaks and a half-priced item. During your break you can spend up to $18 on an item, and you also receive one half-priced item per day at your normal store.
